CURE Uganda
Our chapter is paired with the hospital in Mbale, Uganda. The hospital was opened in 2000 and has served over 5,000 patients. The main focus of this hospital is neurosurgery which works to cure hydrocephalus. Hydrocephalus is easily curable in places such as the United States but in Uganda it can be a struggle. Most families can barely afford transportation to get to this hospital. That is where CURE U and chapters like us come in. It only costs $1,000 USD for a surgery to cure these young children of hydrocephalus!
Opened: 2000
Specialty: Neurosurgery
Annual outpatient visits: 5,774 (2016)
Annual operations: 1,110 (2016)

CURE UCURE U is a branch of CURE International that gives college students the opportunity to help out in a big way. Universities can have their own chapter of CURE and be paired with one specific CURE hospital. As a chapter students strive to raise awareness of the organization, support their hospital in its financial needs, and spread the love of Jesus Christ on their campus. Currently there are 34 CURE University Chapters across the United States. Our mission as a CURE U Chapter is to heal the sick and proclaim the kingdom of God (Luke 9:2).

CURE U @ Bama
CURE U became an official organization at The University of Alabama in January of 2015. Since then the organization has held many fundraisers ranging from bake sales to restaurant nights to our first annual Spring Swing. We continue to grow each year. What started off as a small meeting of less than 10 students on some couches in the Ferg Student Center has grown into a student organization raising more than $500 dollars in the last year. We want to keep growing and eventually fund enough for a surgery. We have lots of plans for Fall 2016 including another big fundraiser (more details to come), more restaurants, a fellowship night, and lots of group activities! We also love hearing your suggestions so send us an email. We would love to have you be apart of this awesome organization!
CURE Bama Founding Exec
CURE Bama was started by Jordan Busshaus who became the chapter's first president and served through Fall of 2016. This Executive Board built this chapter from the ground up and we owe them a special thanks for making the chapter what it is today!
